Fun times over Thanksgiving

Thankful for changed lives

I wish you could see how God is at work in the lives of the youth directly impacted through Basin Youth for Christ. This Christmas, I hope to provide the next best thing. Every November, just before Thanksgiving we host our annual Fall Retreat at the Running Y Resort outside of Klamath Falls. This year we taught on trusting God to heal our broken hearts, trusting Him to lead us, trusting Him as our Lord and Savior, and trusting Him instead of material things. Here are some highlights: Your support makes these life-changing moments possible. Merry Christmas—Patrick Hagerty (Basin YFC Director)

  • 50 students attended from all over the Klamath Basin.

  • Youth enjoyed ice-skating, card games, playing in the pool, relaxing in the hot tub, working out in the gym, miniature golf, and even a dance party on the final night to celebrate an amazing time together.

  • One teenage mom came with her baby and enjoyed making memories with new friends, growing in Christ and teaching the whole group a fun line dance.

  • Students read Daniel 6 for themselves, meditating on how God was trustworthy for Daniel in the lion’s den. Students also read and pondered how God was trustworthy to forgive David for His sin with Bathsheba in 2 Samuel 11 and Psalm 51 Students had the opportunity to just be kids in a safe environment and grow in their understanding of who Christ is and why He is trustworthy.

  • One teenage boy was honest and raw about his own story and how betrayal from his drug addict mother impacts his ability to trust God and other people.
