Fun times over Thanksgiving
Thankful for changed lives
I wish you could see how God is at work in the lives of the youth directly impacted through Basin Youth for Christ. This Christmas, I hope to provide the next best thing. Every November, just before Thanksgiving we host our annual Fall Retreat at the Running Y Resort outside of Klamath Falls. This year we taught through the entire Book of Esther, focusing on how God is at work in the background of our everyday lives even if we can’t see it. We used God’s amazing promise from Romans 8:28, that He causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, who are called according to His purpose, as a backdrop for the event. Here are some highlights:
-
Youth from all over the Klamath Basin attended.
-
3 students from 3 separate schools began their journey with Jesus while on the retreat.
-
Students read through the entire book of Esther and studied it together.
-
Students loved discussing how the Book of Esther relates to their own lives today.
-
Youth read through both of these chapters in their times alone with God.
-
3 youth from Bonanza helped lead worship for their peers during the retreat.
-
One sister had been actively praying for her brother to receive Jesus and he did on the final night of the retreat.
-
Youth enjoyed ice-skating, card games, playing in the pool, relaxing in the hot tub, working out in the gym, and even a dance party on the final night to celebrate an amazing time together.
